Le Maquillage Professional Foundation Palette

Sorry for the hiatus! I always get busy and then I forget about my blog. :(

I'm back because I wanted to show you how I did a makeup looking using this Le Maquillage Professional palette. If you watch gossmakeupartist on youtube then he has mentioned this palette before. It's a wax based foundation palette and it is AMAZING!

The palette I purchased has 6 shades. A beige, a peachy tone, a red color (blush), a bronze (to contour), a yellow (to cancel redness), and a fair shade. I used every single shade in this palette to make this look:

The fair shade was used to "highlight" the bridge of my nose, the center of my forehead, and under my eyes. I used the yellow to cancel out acne spots. The peachy shade was used under my eyes as well to brighten that area up. I used the red shade as a blush along with the bronze color as my contour. The contour was used on the sides of my nose, under my chin, and the sides of the forehead. The beige was used to blend everything together.

I used the beauty blender sponge to blend everything out. What do you think of this makeup look? I found it to be a bit cakey but for a party - this would be a nice foundation to use. The coverage is high and the contouring I did was very subtle. Wax foundation sits on the skin and does not penetrate the pores from what I understand.

This is what the palette looks like:

I got this from a website based in the UK. I paid a pretty penny for it. I would say it's worth it but it's not an everyday foundation for me. I do like the concept. There is a wide range of shade selections too. Check out the site and let me know in the comment section if you ever tried this.

ALSO! Let me know what products you would like me to review. :)

Pixel Eyeshadow Duo in Inspiring

I understand that the brand Pixel sells nail polish, so when I went into an Ulta and found makeup - I got super excited. Especially at the cheap price tags!!

The Pixel line has lip butters, lip glosses, eyeshadow singles, eyeshadow duos, and eyeliners. The prices range from $3-$6 I believe. Well, I got this eyeshadow duo in Inspiring to try out. This duo cost $6 and I usually don't get purple eyeshadows but I thought I'd give this a shot. I love gold shades so that's what also made me purchase this duo.

This is what it looks like: (it doesn't come with an applicator)

I swatched it and I was really impressed. Without a primer, these are still pigmented and the shadows are buttery! I love it. I will definitely try their other products in the future!! :) Did my wallet hear that? ... Hope not.

Did you try any Pixel products? Let me know!

Hard Candy Mod Quad in Ivy League

I am NOT a fan of baked eyeshadows. For some reason, I never found a brand that had good baked eyeshadows that were actually pigmented. Usually baked eyeshadows aren't pigmented and are just glittery. I don't know, maybe I am using them wrong?!

Anyway, I saw that Hard Candy had some baked eyeshadow quads and the palette in Ivy League caught my eye. I love the neutral shade and then that green color just said BUY ME. hahah So I did ... I mean it was only 6 bucks!

The packaging is okay - nothing too exciting. I don't usually buy things for packaging. I buy them for innovation and quality. So anyway ... enough rambling and let's get to the pictures!!

I opened that baby in my car and began swatching it. OH ... MY ... GOODNESS!!! I did NOT use primer underneath. This is literally ONE swipe over the shade and this is what I got ... are you ready?!

That light brown shade is so gorgeous. I put that all over the lid and put the green as a liner. I even put the green in the crease one time... it looked great. I love this palette. I finally found baked shadows that are actually good.

Let me know what your favorite baked eyeshadows are and let me know if you got your hands on these.

Wet N Wild Fergie BB Cream

I went to a Super Walmart and found a display of Wet N Wild Fergie's BB Cream. It said that it was a Walmart Exclusive. The bottles even had $2 off peelie coupons! The retail price was $5.62.

I really love the Wet N Wild Coverall foundation and it is a foundation that I use daily if I'm not using my Dr. Jart BB Cream. So when I saw that Wet N Wild has their own BB Cream I just had to give this a try.

The packaging is really nice (tube) and the tube doesn't have a wide opening so you can have a great handle on how much of it you want to dispense. There was a few shades. I know Nouveau Cheap has photos of the display from one of her readers. Here is the link:

I got the shade in Light (the lightest shade).

I dispensed some on the back of my hand to give you an idea of what the shade looks like:

I wish they had a fair shade because this was too yellow for my skin. I noticed a terrible odor to this as well. It faded after a while but the smell wasn't pleasant at all. The consistency is similar to a tinted moisturizer but a little thicker. I applied it to my skin with an ELF Flat Top brush and I set it with my Jordana powder.

I found it hard to blend on my skin, could be the brush but as I tried using my fingers it got more difficult. You have to work fast because the bb cream dries fast. This is what my face looked like:

Pretty good considering I had a few scars and 2-3 pimples on my face.

Ok, after a whole day of wear, my skin BROKE OUT badly!!! :( Oh no!! Not sure if it's exactly from this BB Cream but it really got me. This is just some of the damage the BB Cream did:

UGH!! My face looks terrible with all these zits on them. :( Booo!! This BB Cream is NOT for me. Maybe it would work out for other people but it did not work for me.

Face Of The Day (Amore Pacific, Loreal Butterfly Mascara, Maybelline Fall 2013 Eyeshadow)

Hey makeup lovers!

I'm doing a Face of the Day along with mini reviews of some of the products I'm using. Kinda hitting a few birds with one stone ;)

I got a sample of this Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact from my New Beauty Test Tube. It's in the shade Tan Blush. It's definitely a cool product. It's a foundation that's light weight and it comes with this sponge inside. It has a great smell to it (Hey, I like it) and while is a little thin in consistency - it's easy to build up. I have a lot of acne scars and redness on my face so I like using something lightweight but has good coverage.

This is what it looks like:

See this is some of my face without makeup ... avert your eyes if you're easily offended!!

Yea I think the camera makes it look better than it really is. I primed my skin with Skin MD face lotion. I love that stuff btw! I have to say this foundation was decent because I was able to cover up most of my scars and acne. I did set it with a powder because it is very dewy and I have oily skin. (Hey if you have dry skin then this is definitely for you). I used the Jordana Flawless Face Powder to set the foundation. Did I mention the price of the foundation is 60 bucks on - that's criminal in my opinion. I know with the holiday 20% deal Sephora does - it might be something I pick up but it's not really worth the full price. The Jordana powder is worth picking up though!!!

Here is the part of my face with this foundation and the powder on:

You can still see my scars but I guess it's better than before? lol Let me know in the comments section on what you think of this.

Moving onto eyeshadow - I picked up the Maybelline Fall 2013 eyeshadow palette in Fall Temptation. When these eyeshadow quads were first introduced, I didn't care much for them because the colors in the permanent line never really wowed me. But their limited edition palettes are so much better. C'mon Maybelline!! Stop making everything GOOD limited edition. Anyway, the first two colors are absolutely unique. Of all the eyeshadows I have in my collection, I was surprised to realize I never had colors like this.
Here are the swatches.

For my look I did that very first shade all over the lid (no primer) and then the second shade in the crease. I get a lot of compliments whenever I do this look. I actually purchased a backup of this palette. I never purchase backups either.

For mascara I am using the Loreal Butterfly mascara. I got this mascara off ebay before this mascara was in stores. Some girl had it on sale and I snatched it up. I don't like reviewing mascaras because everyone has different opinions on what is good for their lashes. I like this mascara. It's really nice and I really like the wand. I'm always up for innovative products so because it is something new to me - I bought it and was pleased. I don't have long thick lashes - so I felt like this defined them more than enhanced them. It was easy to remove and I didn't have fallout. I also had no trouble with clumping.

Cool brush right??!! :)

No Mascara.

 With Mascara.

As far as brows go, I use an ELF angled brush with NYX Betrayal matte eyeshadow to fill them in.
For my lips I used Hard Candy's jumbo lip pencil in cupcake.

Here is my completed look:

I wish the eyeshadow showed up more here but what do you think of the foundation? Thoughts? Do you have any of these items? Let me know!! And thanks for stopping by!! :)

Maybelline Color Tattoos Fall 2013

Maybelline is at it again releasing new color tattoos for fall 2013. I wish they would stop releasing limited edition collections and just release more permanent shades. Or if they did release limited edition shades ... then put more than just 2 of each color in the display!! >:(

I've been hunting these for a while and yes my wallet is pretty mad at me still for buying all those Elixir glosses but I can't keep my hands off color tattoos either. :)

These shades are all matte and I have to say I was pretty happy with these colors. Here are the pics (with flash):

Matte Brown is a very pigmented color ... I would probably just use it in my crease. I'm not a fan of dark colors. Maybe I can possibly use this as a liner.

Just Beige is a yellow based beige and it really reminds me of Soft Ochre by Mac. I don't have that paint pot anymore otherwise I would have posted a swatch. Either way, this color is pretty dupe-able in my opinion.

Nude Pink is GORGEOUS. I like this color. It looked like a light brown but with the flash it looked slightly more pink. Either way, if you get only one color from this line - get this one. I liked this shade the most.

Have you found these yet? I've only seen these at Bed Bath and Beyond. Be sure to use coupons from them - they even take expired coupons!!

Happy shopping.

Maybelline Color Elixir Glosses (PHOTO HEAVY)

Hello fellow beauty addicts! It's been a really long time and I'm so sorry for disappearing like that.

Anyway! I've bought a lot of makeup and I have tons of reviews I want to do but I couldn't help myself when I saw these new Maybelline Color Elixir Glosses at Bed Bath and Beyond. There are 20 shades in this collection and thank goodness it's not limited edition.

I purchased 4 of them to start with and the moment I put this gloss on I was in heaven. I have never ever had this much luck with a lip product. I loved it so much that I ran and got the entire collection. Yes ... I bought all 20 shades. Yes ... I am an addict.

Most of the shades are cream finishes and the few with sparkles (I'm not a fan of shimmery lip products) were actually very nice and comfortable (not to mention flattering) on my lips. :) They're actually small tubes too so it's easy to pop in your pocket.

I read that people compared these to the Loreal Caresse Shine Stains (hated those). The applicators are exactly the same but the formulas are completely different. These Maybelline glosses blow everyone's lip products out of the water. I honestly don't see myself purchasing other lip products in the near future (I know probably not).

This gloss is not sticky, there is a scent (kinda vanilla-ish - not sure I may need some help figuring the scent out), the applicator is great, the gloss lasts a good bit, the pigmentation is amazing, and the good thing is that when it wears off - my lips are still soft and moisturized. I can't say that about any other lip product. I don't see any flaws in these other than they need MORE shades!! lol Hope my wallet didn't hear that! ;)

Ok, have I enticed you to purchase these? Well, here are the swatches and names of all the shades!! Let's begin!!!
